Biographies
Judge Susan Llorens
Judge Llorens was appointed to the King County Superior Court on January 2, 2025. Prior to her appointment, Judge Llorens spent her entire legal career in government service in the state of Washington, primarily in civil and appellate litigation. Judge Llorens additionally served for several years as a pro tempore commissioner and judge in King County Superior Court and Seattle Municipal Court. She was also active in local and state bar associations, providing free legal assistance through the King County Bar Association Neighborhood Legal Clinics and chairing the Washington State Bar Association’s Judicial Recommendation Committee.
Judge Llorens currently hears juvenile dependency and juvenile criminal matters. She serves on the Court’s Education & Training Committee as well as its Dependency Committee and is also a member of the Superior Court Judges Association Civil Law and Rules Committee and the Family and Juvenile Law Committee. Judge Llorens is a graduate of the University of Washington School of Law.
Bailiff Michael Miyamoto
Mr. Miyamoto is the Bailiff for Department 55. He born and raised in Washington and is experienced in courtroom management at both the King County Superior Court and King County District Court levels. Mr. Miyamoto is the point of contact for all communications with Department 55 at llorens.court@kingcounty.gov.

Personally, recording or photographing a court hearing is prohibited without permission of the court. All court hearings are audio recorded; if you need to obtain a copy of the official recording, you may do so by submitting a request to the Clerk’s Office using the following link: CD Request Form.

Your Zoom tile must contain your true name or identify your relationship to a proceeding, or you may not be permitted to enter the virtual courtroom from the waiting room.

Remote hearing participants should conduct themselves in the same way they would if they were physically present in a courtroom and should take steps to minimize anything that would distract from the integrity of the proceedings.
