Story

King County Councilmember Reagan Dunn on Tuesday announced that eight local Enumclaw organizations would be awarded County grants to support their work in the community. Dunn secured funds for these organizations in King County’s biennial budget.

“These funds serve as an investment in the Enumclaw community,” Dunn said. “Each of these groups enriches Enumclaw through their work — whether it be by providing opportunities for youth to join an athletic team, or by sharing about the rich heritage of the area. I’m proud to be able to deliver this support.”

Eight organizations were awarded a total of $31,500:

  • The Enumclaw Schools Foundation received a $2,000 Community Services Operating Grant
  • The Enumclaw Plateau Historical Society received a $2,000 Community Services Operating Grant
  • VFW Post 1949 received a $2,500 Veterans Service Organizations Grant
  • The Enumclaw School District received a $5,000 Youth and Amateur Sports Grant
  • The City of Enumclaw received a $5,000 Youth and Amateur Sports Grant
  • Chinook Little League received a $5,000 Youth and Amateur Sports Grant
  • Cascade Foothills Soccer Club received a $5,000 Youth and Amateur Sports Grant
  • Enumclaw Jr. Fastball received a $5,000 Youth and Amateur Sports Grant

“The local organizations in Enumclaw that are recipients of the King County grants are all a vital part of our community,” Mayor Jan Molinaro said. “Veterans and youth will greatly benefit from this funding, and I appreciate the financial assistance Councilmember Reagan Dunn and the King County Council have provided. The funding comes at a critical time for each entity to plan for 2023 activities.

This funding was approved today by the King County Council as a part of King County's 2023-2024 biennial budget.
