Title of proposal: Eastside Interceptor Section 8 rehabilitation Project
Description of proposal: The King County Wastewater Treatment Division proposes to repair Eastside Interceptor Section 8 (ESI 8), a 1-mile underground pipeline going from the I-90 and I-405 interchange in Bellevue to the intersection of Coal Creek Parkway Southeast and I-405. The project objective is to maintain reliable sewage conveyance and extend the useful life of the existing sewer by rehabilitating conveyance system pipelines and structures suffering from severe hydrogen sulfide related corrosion while minimizing capacity impacts. A temporary above-ground diversion pipe will be placed along the East Rail Corridor during construction. Project construction is scheduled to begin in 2026 and end in 2027.
Location of proposal, including street address, if any: The approximately 2-mile-long project area is located entirely within the City of Bellevue, King County Parks, King County WTD, and Washington State Department of Transportation properties.
