Title of proposal: South Plant Biogas Upgrade System Improvements Project

Description of proposal: The King County Wastewater Treatment Division proposes to modify equipment in the existing biogas system of the County’s South Treatment Plant to reliably meet renewable natural gas requirements for Puget Sound Energy’s natural gas distribution system. No improvements or work within the public right-of-way will be conducted. Project construction is scheduled to begin in mid-2026. The biogas modifications are scheduled to be operational by early-2027.

Location of proposal, including street address, if any: The structures in which the equipment is located are at 1200 Monster Road SW, Renton, Washington (parcel number 2423049006).

Other environmental documents prepared by the Wastewater Treatment Division, such as documents prepared under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), may also be listed.
