Performance and Strategy
We lead enterprise performance management and strategy development to help King County deliver equitable, effective, and accountable results. As part of the Office of Performance, Strategy and Budget, we align leadership priorities with measurable outcomes through planning, performance tracking, and public reporting.The Performance and Strategy (PS) section helps King County deliver on its True North by leading enterprise performance management and guiding strategy development to deliver equitable, efficient, and effective results to the community.
The Performance and Strategy (PS) Team is a key partner in advancing King County’s vision of a results-driven, equitable, and accountable government. As part of the Office of Performance, Strategy and Budget, we lead and support the implementation and continuous improvement of the County’s enterprise performance management system - Best-Run Government (BRG) - to ensure strategic priorities translate into measurable outcomes.
We focus on:
- Enterprise planning and monitoring, including annual plan development and operations reviews
- Performance measurement and management, with a focus on driving results
- Enterprise deployment coordination to align departments with Executive priorities
- Public and internal performance reporting to promote transparency and accountability
- Management system improvements, including data integration and equity-centered practices
- Advancing and embedding equity in County processes and decision-making
- Project management for high-impact initiatives such as equity and employee engagement
- Internal consulting to help departments design, improve, and implement key management tools
Through this work, we help King County track progress, close performance gaps, and deliver meaningful outcomes for the communities we serve.
