Community litter cleanup
Does your community have a littered area on public property?
The Solid Waste Division (SWD) offers illegal dumping and litter cleanup services on publicly owned property throughout the county. This includes city, county, state and federally owned property.
In 2017, efforts focused on sensitive areas where dumped material can have a disproportionate effect on the environment. Crews cleaned up approximately 222 tons of debris from 133 sites. About 8 percent of the debris was recycled, including tires, appliances, scrap metal, and junk vehicles.
