Rail travel
Metro provides a wide range of transportation options and choices for King County.
In addition to the region’s largest bus network, Metro operates Sound Transit’s regional Express bus service and Link light rail in King County, along with the Seattle Streetcar.
Link light rail
Link light rail travels between Lynnwood City Center Station and Angle Lake, making stops along the way, including UW Station, downtown Seattle and Sea-Tac Airport. Link trains run every 6, 10 or 15 minutes depending on the time of day.
Sounder train
Sounder trains travel between Lakewood and Seattle (making stops in Tacoma, Puyallup, Sumner, Auburn, Kent and Tukwila) and between Everett and Seattle (making stops in Mukilteo and Edmonds).
Sounder regularly runs weekday mornings and afternoons only. Sounder also serves select major weekend events such as Mariners and Seahawks games.
Seattle Center Monorail
The Monorail travels directly between Westlake Center Mall (5th Avenue and Pine Street) and Seattle Center (adjacent to the Space Needle and MoPOP). There is only one stop so you won’t get lost!
Seattle Streetcar
The South Lake Union and First Hill lines connect to multiple bus routes and the Link light rail. The South Lake Union Line to Westlake Hub (McGraw Square) is one block from the monorail station at the Westlake Center station, which travels to the Seattle Center.
