With Councilmember Girmay Zahilay being elected as King County Executive, the Council’s District 2 seat is currently vacant. The Executive must submit three nominees for a replacement to the Council and the full Council will appoint one to serve until the end of the current term, December 31, 2026. Council is scheduled to appoint a replacement at its December 9 meeting.
