King County Archives

King County Archives is dedicated to preserving and providing access to records of enduring historical value. Archives holds historically relevant records created by King County government officials, employees, and agencies. Records range from County Council meeting minutes, County Executive orders, photographs, reports, maps, and project files.

Court records - District Court

You can use the e-Filing and Case Access portal to find case information on filed King County District Court (KCDC) civil, infraction and criminal cases.

Court records - Superior Court

Many court records, including documents and audio recordings, can be accessed online. Superior Court records are maintained by the Clerk's Office, which is also called the Department of Judicial Affairs.

Medical Examiner’s Office decedent lists

The King County Medical Examiner's Office releases case information weekday afternoons (excluding holidays) once an investigation is complete. Note that the office investigates sudden, violent, unexpected, and suspicious deaths that happen in King County. It does not investigate every death.

Online records search

How to access and use our free, online database of King County's official records. Most documents recorded on or after August 1, 1991 are available online. Documents that were recorded prior to August 1, 1991 are on microfilm and are only available from the King County Archives.

Public records requests

By law, King County and our agencies are also required to make records available to the public for inspection and copying.
