Event description

Our partners at the City of Kent host regular free recycling events that allow residents to dispose of recyclable items not typically accepted at the curb. This event focuses only on paint.

Please note: No other hazardous items will be accepted at this event, and the collector reserves the right to refuse any non-program items.

Under the Washington State Paint Stewardship Program (PaintCare), the city will accept any amount of accepted product in its original containers of 5-gallon size or less of the following items from households:

  • Interior and exterior architectural paints: latex, acrylic, water-based, alkyd, oil-based, enamel (including textured coatings)
  • Deck coatings, floor paints (including elastomeric)
  • Primers, sealers, under coaters
  • Stains
  • Shellacs, lacquers, varnishes, urethanes (single component)
  • Waterproofing concrete/masonry/wood sealers and repellents (not tar- or bitumen-based)
  • Metal coatings, rust preventatives
  • Field and lawn paints

For more information, please visit KentWA.gov/TalkingTrash or the Kent Recycling Collection Events page.
