Department of Community and Human Services (DCHS)
The Department of Community and Human Services serves communities across King County in the areas of housing, behavioral health care, childcare, education, resources for people with developmental disabilities, and support for veterans. Each year, the department serves nearly half a million residents and oversees the implementation of several local funding sources, including the Crisis Care Center Levy, MIDD Behavioral Health Sales Tax, Health Through Housing (HTH), the Veterans, Seniors & Human Services Levy (VSHSL), Best Starts for Kids, and the Puget Sound Taxpayer Accountability Account (PSTAA).

Metro Transit Department (MTD)

Assessor’s Office
The Assessor's Office is responsible for setting the values on over 750,000 commercial and residential parcels every year, and reviews funding requests from state and local governments in order to create the annual property tax roll. We also administer property tax relief programs for eligible seniors, veterans, and disabled persons.

The King County District Court consists of 25 elected judges who hear a range of civil and criminal cases at eight courthouse locations throughout King County.
