Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs) are portable medical devices that check heart rhythms and send an electric shock to restart a normal heartbeat during sudden cardiac arrest.
Our Public access AED program ensures AEDs are available throughout our community and that the public understands how to use them. Today, there are more than 6,000 registered AEDs in King County – contributing to our county having one of the highest cardiac survival rates in the world.
