Youth housing and rent resources
Best Starts for Kids Youth and Family Homelessness Prevention Initiative (YFHPI) functions as a component of a coordinated system of addressing homelessness throughout King County, resolving a housing crisis before it results in a housing loss. Implemented through 20 diverse community partners, YFHPI identifies the supports and needs of families in crisis, intervening quickly with landlords and housing providers to assist families with maintaining their housing. This approach lowers demand for already scarce homeless housing resources and an overburdened homeless services system.
We are currently partnering with 20 community-based organizations to offer homelessness prevention services.

ACHD serves youth and families with children who are at imminent risk of homelessness. Case managers work with households to create a plan for safe and secure housing.

We help youth or family at risk of becoming homeless to receive the support needed to resolve their housing crisis quickly, and to empower households to maintain stable housing for the future.
This program is part of coordinated system of addressing homelessness throughout King County, working to resolve housing crisis before they result in a housing loss. We focus on addressing the immediate issues placing the family or youth at risk of homelessness. We can help negotiate payments plans with your landlord, connect you to additional supports, and limited assistance with rent and housing costs in combination with case management.
Eligibility Requirement
- Youth and young adults (12-24) and families with children under the age of 24.
- Households must be at imminent risk of homelessness and considered highly vulnerable to becoming homeless without assistance
- Family cannot stabilize without help (example: higher wage, lower rent, social supports).
- History of homelessness and evictions

For 35 years, Entre Hermanos has proudly supported and uplifted the Latine LGBTQ+ community in Seattle. We provide free, confidential services including HIV and STD testing, PrEP navigation, medical case management, immigration legal consultations and representation (with free consultations available), support groups and housing assistance for individuals, families, and youth ages 12–24. All services are offered regardless of immigration status or insurance and are available in Spanish and English.

Open Doors for Multicultural Families specializes in supporting multicultural families, including those with members who have intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD); however, an IDD diagnosis is not required to receive services. ODMF serves all YFHPI-eligible households, regardless of background or disability status. Services are delivered through a culturally responsive, family-centered approach that promotes housing stability and long-term self-sufficiency, grounded in cultural brokerage practices to help families maintain stable housing.

PIE works to prevent homelessness to low- income youth and families by providing financial assistance, counseling, and other additional housing stabilization services to keep families from being evicted, losing their homes, or becoming homeless. Our wraparound service model provides supportive services to help people rebuild their lives, regain their dignity, and housing stability.
Immigrants and refugees are more vulnerable to homelessness due to their many barriers, Washington being one of the most expensive states also adds to the stress of housing stability. We understand in order to secure economic stable for the community we must ensure they have stable housing and a high-wage job to lead healthy lives.
Praisealujah Discipleship is committed to supporting individuals and families facing housing instability by offering compassionate, accessible rental support. Serving low‑ to moderate income households and community members experiencing temporary financial hardship, we work to ensure essential services and resources are within reach. Our team is available Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–7:00 PM, Saturday by appointment, providing guidance, resources, and hope when it’s needed most.

Reclaiming Our Greatness (ROG) provides holistic eviction prevention services, including rental assistance, and trauma-informed case management support. Our programming predominantly serves Black and BIPOC households living in South Seattle and South King County, prioritizing households with at least one school-aged child or young person up to age 24. ReWA believes that when families have stable housing, parents are able take steps towards self-sufficiency, and children can succeed in school and beyond.
Rising rental costs make securing stable housing an issue of growing concern for low-income residents in Washington state. This concern is especially great for refugees and immigrants, who need time to learn English, find employment, and become self-sufficient.
ReWA’s Case Managers provide wrap-around housing assistance that includes employment assistance and intensive case management. Our Case Workers help clients find housing that is within their budget so that they can achieve stability. On move-in day, Case Workers help clients move into their new home and help connect them with donated furniture and other household essentials to ensure that their basic needs are met.
ReWA also provides emergency assistance for rent and utilities bills for eligible refugees and immigrants. These simple one-time contributions help keep families safe and warm while they secure employment or find more affordable housing.

The Solid Ground YFHPI Program is a rental assistance program for qualified households with an unaccompanied youth/young adult ages 12-24, or families with children birth to 24 that are at imminent risk of homelessness. Solid Ground is one of two agencies disbursing rental assistance to households without case management within King County. Solid Ground cannot screen or directly connect people to YFHPI Services.

The Arc of King County’s YFHPI program provides housing stability case management and rental assistance referrals to individuals and families at risk of homelessness in King County. Services include individualized case management, resource navigation, landlord engagement, and flexible financial assistance to address rent arrears and prevent eviction. The program primarily serves low-income households, including individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), families with children, and communities disproportionately impacted by housing instability. Rental assistance referral and supportive services are designed to help households remain safely housed and maintain long-term stability, consistent with regional housing stability models that combine financial support with case management.

The People of Color Against AIDS Network (POCAAN) / YFPHI – Best Start for Kids program provides housing stabilization case management and short-term rental assistance to help individuals and families remain housed and prevent eviction. Services include rental assistance, budget management, landlord mediation, and connections to supportive resources such as behavioral health, employment, and health navigation, delivered through culturally responsive, community-based care.
POCAAN primarily serves low-income, marginalized communities of color (BIPOC), including youth, young adults, LGBTQ+ individuals, and families at risk of homelessness across King County, with a strong focus on those experiencing systemic barriers and housing instability.
Therapeutic Health Services provides a wide range of treatment, counseling, outreach and case management programs serving at-risk, low-income children, youth, young adults and their families. Building on 40 years of experience providing substance use and mental health treatment to adults in the Puget Sound area, THS has expertise working with a richly diverse youth population. Our unique “wraparound” approach engages everyone in a young person’s life: parents, family members, teachers and friends who help build a network of support encouraging success.

Ubumwe Women Association Services provides case management through the YFHPI program to help families at risk of homelessness maintain stable housing. We offer individualized support, financial assistance, and connections to community resources. We primarily serve immigrant and refugee single mothers, youth under 24, and low-income families in King County.

UIATF Homelessness Prevention, under the YFPHI program, provides comprehensive case management and rental assistance services to individuals and families at risk of experiencing homelessness.
