NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that a public hearing will be held before the Metropolitan King County Council on the 25th day of March, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. to consider adoption of Proposed Ordinance 2024-0409, an ordinance relating to approving renewal of cable franchise 5602 held by WAVEDIVISION I, LLC as franchisee, doing business as Astound Broadband.  The public hearing will be held at the King County Courthouse, 516 3rd Avenue, Room 1001, Seattle; remote public testimony on Zoom will also be accepted.  Written public testimony will be accepted from 9 a.m. on March 13, 2025, through 10 a.m. on March 25, 2025, by sending such public testimony to clerk.council@kingcounty.gov.  Please include the legislation number and related agenda item in the subject line. SUMMARY

This ordinance will approve the renewal of franchise 5602 held by WAVEDIVISION I, LLC as franchisee, doing business as Astound Broadband. WAVEDIVISION I, LLC owns and operates a cable system under a franchise from King County (cable franchise 5602) that serves customers within the following described boundaries:

 

All those portions of unincorporated King County excluding all incorporated Cities located in following townships and Ranges: Township 26, Ranges 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13, Township 25, Ranges 5, 6, 7, 8,9, 10, 11, 12 and 13, Township 24, Ranges 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13, Township 23, Ranges 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12, Township 22, Ranges 5, 6, 7, 8, 9,10 and 11, Township 21, Ranges 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12, Township 20, Ranges 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12, Township 19, Ranges 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11.  These areas are generally located in unincorporated King County near the cities of Duvall, Carnation and Woodinville.

 

Final Action:

Prior to final action, Councilmembers may offer amendments for consideration by the Council.  Persons wishing to testify on the Proposed Ordinance should attend the public hearing in person or remotely on March 25, 2025, or provide testimony in writing prior to the hearing.
