Expedited Partner Therapy (EPT) guidelines
Expedited partner therapy (EPT) refers to treating the sex partners of persons with a curable sexually transmitted infection (STI) without requiring that the partner first undergo a medical evaluation. In most instances, this involves giving a patient medication to give to their sex partners, or patient delivered partner therapy (PDPT).
Expedited partner therapy/Partner notification and treatment
Assuring that the sex and needle sharing partners of persons with HIV/STI receive the medical care they need is a shared responsibility between medical providers and Public Health. Medical providers should always advise their patients to notify their potentially exposed partners and should attempt to promote partner notification and treatment, even among patients who will receive Public Health partner services.

Home alone: a parent's guide
Your child comes home from school at 3:00pm, but you don't get home from work until 5:00pm. They're at home alone for those two hours every weekday. What do they do until you arrive? Most likely, they'll get a snack or talk on the phone. Maybe watch TV. But since you're not there, you worry. Just like the majority of American parents who work and have to leave their children on their own after school every day, you are anxious about your child's safety.

How to clean up a raccoon latrine
Raccoons establish community latrines—sites where they repeatedly deposit fresh feces (droppings or scat) on top of old feces in a particular area in their environment. Raccoon latrines consist of piles of raccoon feces of different ages. Fresh raccoon feces are tubular in shape, with blunt ends, and about the same diameter as a nickel or dime. Generally, fresh raccoon feces are dark in color, but it depends on what the animal was eating. Seeds or nut shells may be seen in the feces. As feces age, they weather and decompose. Old feces may look like dried leaves or debris.

King County Flood Management Plan
The 2024 King County Flood Management Plan outlines a vision for reducing flood and flood-related risks countywide. It describes the actions King County will take to manage risks associated with flooding along our rivers, creeks, and shorelines, including opportunities for the County to work with cities, partners, and community members to build flood resilience. The 2024 Flood Plan was proposed by Executive Constantine to the Metropolitan King County Council in June 2024 and adopted by the Council on September 17, 2024. Flooding is King County’s most common and costliest natural disaster. Since 1956, King County has experienced 29 presidentially declared flooding disasters, and smaller flood events occur with regularity. King County last updated the flood plan in 2013. In the time since, flood events have changed how our rivers and waterways look and function. Our population has grown, and we’ve added more homes and businesses to the landscape. Climate change is increasing the likelihood of larger and more frequent flooding, including flooding in places that have not historically flooded. In addition to evolving flood risks, we now have more experience with implementing actions that reduce those risks while also providing other community and environmental benefits.

And if you have been led to believe that picking pockets takes place only in crowds, forget it. They generally focus on the public during times when they might be carrying more money than usual, such as during pre-holiday spending sprees, store sales, at fairs, carnivals, horse races, gambling casinos, near bank entrances, etc. The best protection for foiling pickpockets is to remove the opportunity of becoming a victim.
