Gossett: Everyone benefits from Waste Management agreement
Summary
Story
Metropolitan King County Council Chair Larry Gossett released this statement after today’s ratification by recycling-truck drivers of a contract that ends the eight-day garbage strike affecting communities throughout King County:“The two sides recognized that this dispute impacted neighborhoods and businesses throughout the region and worked hard to reach an agreement as quickly as possible.
“The contract ratified by Teamsters Local 117 benefits the company, recycle and yard waste drivers and most importantly, the customers who receive their garbage and recycling services from the employees.
“I want to applaud the recycle and yard waste drivers and the Teamsters Local 117 in their efforts to achieve a fair contract and preserving their livable wage jobs.”
