Story

Metropolitan King County Councilmember Joe McDermott, Chair of the Budget and Fiscal Management Committee, released the following statement on the efforts to bring a new arena to King County.

"The City has done good work on behalf of Seattle residents to revise the MOU and ILA that the County Council transmitted to the City in July. I consider many of their changes to be strong improvements.

“The County Council will continue to work collaboratively with representatives from the City and Mr. Hansen to address the regional impacts of the legislation.

“We are eager to reach a final agreement.

“County and City representatives, along with Mr. Hansen, continue to work together to reconcile the agreements adopted by each council. I am certain we will stand together with a final MOU and ILA in the next few weeks.”
