Dunn crowns the “King Critter” of the King County Fair

Story

Snow White the rooster and his owner Holly Rice took center stage as the King County Fair’s “King Critter.” Metropolitan King County Councilmember Reagan Dunn had the honor of judging the critters, part of the traditional start of the annual King County Fair, which opened on July 11. Dunn was joined in judging the contest by Enumclaw Mayor Liz Reynolds and “Evening Magazine” host and reporter Jim Dever.

“I make sure every summer to visit the King County Fair,” said Dunn. “This event is a great way to celebrate the summer season and a great time for all involved. I am happy to participate in the judging and I congratulate the winner, Snow White and owner Holly Rice. Thank you to everyone that helped make this a great event.”

Snow White’s “Royal Court” will include second place critter Luke the Doberman, owned by Nicole Shriver. Appaloosa Llama Silver Comet and owner Kylee Davidson came in third.

“It is always and exciting time of the year when the King County Fair gets underway,” said Mayor Liz Reynolds. “The fair is a great tradition and I am pleased to be able to support our 4-H programs.”

This year's King County Fair includes 4H exhibitors, carnival rides, pig races, kid tractor pull, go cart racing, chain saw carving, musical entertainment, vendors and of course—fair food.

The King County fair runs from July 11 through July 14 at the Enumclaw Expo Center which is located at 45224 284th Avenue SE. For more information, go to the King County Fair website.
