Dunn: Veterans Initiative helps repay the debt we owe to veterans and their families

Metropolitan King County Councilmember Reagan Dunn released this statement after today’s announcement by County Executive Dow Constantine that his proposed 2014 County Budget will include funding for a veteran’s initiative to connect veterans with the services they’re earned:

“As the prime sponsor on the Heroes Employment Reintegration Opportunity (HERO) program—an internship program that taps the skills and knowledge of veterans living in King County—I know the impact these programs can have on the lives of veterans and their families.

“I applaud Executive Constantine for including funding for the HERO program and other Veterans Initiative that will be part of his proposed 2014 King County Budget. We owe these men and women a huge debt because of their service to this County. Programs like this are the first step in repaying that debt.”
