Looking for ideas on helping young people: Public invited to discuss development of King County Youth Action Plan

Summary

Story

The Metropolitan King County Council is committed to developing a roadmap on providing services to the young people of the County to ensure they have access to the resources and opportunities they need to become healthy, productive adults.

That commitment has become the King County Youth Action Plan, and residents of the Rainier Valley and all of South Seattle are invited to meet with the members of task force developing that plan to discuss their priorities for helping the young people of the region, from infants through adults:

Legislation adopted by the County Council called for the creation of a task force to help develop the Youth Action Plan. So far the task force has developed a planning framework, agreed to set of core principles, and mapped existing partnerships and identifying a mission and vision for the Plan.

The task force now wants to hear from the public—both youths and adults—on their priorities as they develop recommendations to present to the County Council to assist young people.

You can receive information on the Youth Action Plan at the plans web site. At the site you can also take a survey that will help the task force in the continuing development of the Action Plan.
