Metropolitan King County Council Chair Joe McDermott today release this statement on the firing of State Transportation Secretary Lynn Peterson:

“People deserve to get to work and school and then back home to their families, quickly, safely and affordably. Lynn Peterson embodied these goals in all of her actions.

“Her firing was unjustified and reeks of politics at its absolute worst.

“Washingtonians deserve much better than this high school pettiness from policy makers.”
