Story

Today the Metropolitan King County Council confirmed the appointment of Federal Way resident Alex Sheehan to the Behavior Health Advisory Board for the remainder of a partial term expiring on March 31, 2022.

“As we’ve seen an increase in mental health issues over the past year, I appreciate Alex’s willingness to serve,” said Councilmember Pete von Reichbauer, who represents District 7 on the King County Council.  “His experience as a probation/parole officer, coupled with his volunteer work for the National Alliance on Mental Health (NAMI), provides him with a unique perspective that will be welcome on the Board.”

The King County Behavioral Health Advisory Board is a volunteer citizen board formed to support the Behavioral Health Organization. It reviews services for the King County BHO and provides input and counsel to King County on priorities, policies, budgets and programs for the residents of King County. The Board works to promote the importance of prevention, treatment, recovery and the destigmatization of mental illness and addiction.
