Increasing Equitable Supports & Service for Youth to Thrive
The Puget Sound Taxpayer Accountability Account (PSTAA) is a dedicated funding source that expands equitable educational opportunities for children and youth across King County. Administered by the King County Department of Community and Human Services (DCHS), PSTAA supports investments in early learning, Kâ12 community-based supports, and postsecondary access to help young people thrive from early childhood through college and career.
PSTAA was created by the Washington State Legislature as part of the 2015 State Transportation Revenue Package. It directs a portion of Sound Transit 3-related tax revenues toward improving educational outcomes. King County Council established local investment priorities through an extensive community engagement process.
About PSTAA
King County DCHS partners with community organizations, educational institutions, and private philanthropy to invest PSTAA funding where it can have the greatest impact. Investments are guided by the King County Council-approved Implementation Plan and are focused on advancing educational equity through three priority areas:
- Early Learning Facilities
- Community-Based Supports for K–12 Students
- College, Career, and Postsecondary Pathways
