Save the date for the next Vision 2045 Open House

King County International Airport-Boeing Field (KCIA) is undertaking two important studies to plan for the future of the airport: the Vision 2045 Airport Plan (FAA Master Plan) and the Part 150 Study.

You are invited to an open house on Thursday, May 14 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the KCIA Flight Service Station, 6526 Ellis Ave. S., to learn more about Vision 2045. The Vision 2045 Airport Plan looks at how KCIA can continue to operate safely and efficiently while meeting changing aviation needs. The plan identifies potential projects and improvements needed to support future demand and reflects feedback received from interested and affected parties who have participated in Vision 2045.

At the open house, attendees can learn more about the preferred alternative for how KCIA can adapt and evolve to meet future aviation demand.

Next Steps for Vision 2045: the team is completing additional environmental analysis, a Capital Improvement Plan, and an Airport Layout Plan for the projects included in Vision 2045. Once the environmental review is complete, the airport will host another public meeting before submitting the plan to the King County Council and the Federal Aviation Administration for consideration and approval.

Next steps for the Part 150 Noise Compatibility Plan: The Part 150 Study will help the airport develop noise exposure maps and evaluate noise compatibility programs. The team is preparing the report for submittal to the FAA for their review along with all comments received on the draft report and at the January public hearing.
