About King County Energize

King County’s Energize program, run through the King County Executive Climate Office (ECO), installs heat pumps and other home efficiency upgrades in low and moderate income homes in King County. Eligibility is based on income and geographic boundaries as set by funding partners.
The Energize program aligns with King County’s commitments in the Strategic Climate Action Plan (SCAP):
- Energize prepares for the impacts of climate change by ensuring more people have access to cooling on hot days and heating on cold ones.
- Energize advances energy justice and reduces energy burdens in frontline communities – those communities that will experience the earliest and most severe climate impacts.
- Energize reduces greenhouse gas emissions by replacing inefficient gas and oil heating systems with cleaner electric heating and cooling.
