About the Collaborative

The Puget Sound Climate Preparedness Collaborative (Collaborative) is a network of more than 30 local and county governments, Tribes, regional agencies, and other organizations in the Puget Sound basin working together to build community, economic, and environmental resilience to the impacts of climate change. The Collaborative seeks to leverage limited resources, reduce duplication of efforts, facilitate institutional learning, and amplify organizational preparedness priorities, needs, and ideas with other stakeholders, including state and federal agencies.

The Collaborative hosts a monthly climate preparedness call focused on an adaptation topic relevant to Collaborative communities. The Collaborative also supports peer learning and capacity building through connecting and convening subject matter experts and partners working on climate preparedness. King County is the organizational host for the Collaborative and co-chairs the Collaborative with the Point No Point Treaty Council.

Climate Resilience Regional Challenge Grant

In 2024, the Collaborative was awarded a Climate Resilience Regional Challenge (CRRC) grant from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). This 3-year grant will support the following objectives:

  • Promote shared learning and accelerate climate preparedness through increased engagement activities and creation of technical resources.
  • Support climate preparedness work in smaller and less-resourced jurisdictions and Tribes via creation of a Small Communities Cohort Program.
  • Increase regional understanding of climate change impacts on Tribes and Tribal treaty rights through creation of a Tribal Partnerships Learning Series.
  • Support local efforts to incorporate equity and social justice in climate preparedness work through development of a Climate Equity Learning Series.
  • Inform and support stronger regional alignment in climate preparedness goals and outcomes in the Puget Sound basin.

How to Get Involved
