The 2025 Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration is Tuesday, January 14.

Community members and King County employees are invited to join in honoring our nation’s foremost human rights leader and King County’s namesake, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The theme for the 2025 Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration is “Looking Forward as a Community”, and the accompanying quote is

“All labor that uplifts humanity has dignity and importance and should be undertaken with painstaking excellence. Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?’”– Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

When: Tuesday, January 14, 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm

Where: Renton Ikea Performing Arts Center, 400 S 2nd St, Renton, WA 98057

The event is free, but you must register to attend in person.

2025 MLK Jr. calendars and digital assets are now available

Artist biography: Thomas is a Seattle-based visual storyteller that has drawn from history, literature, folklore, mythology, and biblical throughout her career. Thomas's illumination of the human figure through her light-filled artworks and portraiture encourages the viewer to reflect on how we communicate ourselves to the world and how we perceive those among us.
