Executive Constantine thanks King County Sheriff's Deputies for good work
Statement from Dow Constantine
King County Executive Dow Constantine today thanked Sheriff's Deputies on their work to track down Peter Keller:
"I am grateful that, thanks to the good work of the King County Sheriff's Office, the standoff at Rattlesnake Ridge didn't end as violently as it could have.
"King County employees have dealt with heartbreaking tragedy in this case, starting first with the murder of two innocent victims found by first responders and sheriff's deputies and later confirmed by King County Medical Examiner staff. County Sheriff's Office employees moved quickly to comb through evidence in a fire-damaged home to search for clues, which ultimately led to the suspect on the ridge. I am appreciative of their patient and thorough investigation work that lead them to the suspect quickly under the leadership of Sheriff Strachan.
"I would also like to express my gratitude for the Seattle Police Department SWAT Team who worked with King County Deputies overnight who braved hypothermia and sprained ankles on a cold ridge to make sure the suspect didn't escape under cover of darkness.
"I am thankful that King County Deputies are home safe tonight, and that further tragedy has been prevented by their diligence and good work."
