"Another piece falls into place with today’s announcement.

"The names of Steve Ballmer and Peter and Erik Nordstrom add additional strength and credibility to this proposal, and even greater assurance of the financial stability of the investment team that is working to bring the Sonics back to Seattle.

"Mr. Ballmer stepped up with unprecedented generosity in the effort to keep the Sonics in town. He’s stepping up again to bring them back.

"The name "Nordstrom" represents quality around the world, and the Nordstrom family has a strong history in local pro sports as the original owners of the Seattle Seahawks. Peter and Erik Nordstrom would continue that family tradition.

"These backers are pillars of our local community whose reputations precede them. The people of King County know that these local leaders are committed to bringing the NBA and NHL to this region."
