After King County Councilmember Joe McDermott announced he would not seek reelection in 2023, Executive Constantine issued the following statement:

"I want to congratulate Councilmember Joe McDermott for more than 22 years of outstanding public service as he announces his next chapter. As a fellow lifelong West Seattleite, I’ve had the pleasure of knowing and working with Joe for many years.

"Joe has served the people of King County from both sides of the rotunda in Olympia and in major leadership positions at the County Council, every day fighting for the issues and values we all share."
