Goals
The White Center Community Events Grant aims to support vibrant, inclusive, and culturally enriching festivals, markets and other community events that bring the community together. This funding will:
- Foster community engagement through events that celebrate White Center’s diversity and culture
- Support youth-led initiatives and provide meaningful opportunities for young people to participate in event planning and execution
- Enhance economic opportunities by promoting local businesses, artists, and food vendors
- Create safe and welcoming spaces for families and residents to connect and celebrate
Grant requirements
Events must take place in White Center and be open to the public.
- Funded projects should align with the grant goals and promote community-building, cultural appreciation, and local engagement.
- Events must be family-friendly and inclusive of White Center’s diverse populations.
- Funding can be used for event logistics, outreach, entertainment, safety measures, and other direct costs related to event production.
Deadline
Applications must be submitted through the grant portal by 5 pm on April 11. Late applications will not be accepted.
Application eligibility and rating
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a nonprofit organization or community group with a demonstrated commitment to community engagement
- Have experience in event planning and execution or demonstrate a strong capacity to successfully implement the proposed event
- Ensure that the event is held in White Center and serves the local community
- Be able to track and report on grant expenditures and event impact
Tips for a successful grant application
- Start preparing early. Look at the application, develop your materials, then load them into the portal.
- Keep the program guidelines and evaluation criteria in mind while preparing the grant application.
- Provide clear and concise narrative responses that answer all parts of the question.
- Character limits are provided to guide maximum response length; responses do not need to use the full character counts allowed.
- If applying for multiple grants, complete and submit one application per grant.
