Runway 14R/32L Rehabilitation

Learn more about a project to rehabilitate the pavement of the main runway at King County International Airport

The pavement on Runway 14R/32L, also known as the main runway, at King County International Airport-Boeing Field (KCIA) is nearing the end of its useful life. Without rehabilitation, it will continue to deteriorate until it is unsafe for aircraft operations. In conjunction with the Taxiway B Safety Improvement project, KCIA intends to restore the runway's pavement to extend its useful life, which is key to the airport's continuing viability as a regional transportation asset.

In addition to pavement rehabilitation, there will also be changes made to the taxiways used to access this runway. Much of this work is expected to be funded through Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) grants.
