Investments and Funding Opportunities

Promoting housing stability, healthy living, financial stability, social engagement, and service system access for veterans, seniors and resilient communities

The Veterans, Seniors, and Human Services Levy (VSHSL) Implementation Plan is a strategy-by-strategy plan that details how the 2024-2029 VSHSL proceeds will be invested in King County’s communities to improve overall health and well-being, help communities thrive, and reduce disparities throughout King County.

The timeline below shares the procurement timeline estimates for the plan’s strategies and programs, and information about any community planning sessions that may be held to shape Requests for Proposals (RFPs) or other competitive procurement processes.

If you would like any additional information, please contact VSHSL@kingcounty.gov.

Note on Technical Assistance and Capacity Building funding:

The 2024-2029 VSHSL's, Technical Assistance and Capacity Building (TACB) strategy, provides an opportunity for deeper collaboration between the County and regional human service coalitions. Through this strategy, the VSHSL will reserve up to 25% of the TACB budget to support regional human service coalitions to promote the following activities, as outlined in the VSHSL Implementation Plan

  • disseminating grant opportunities to partner organizations

  • identifying and connecting partner organizations with capacity building and technical assistance

  • building a conduit between the county and partner organizations to facilitate feedback

  • improve and enhance system delivery and efficacy

In late 2024, the Department of Community and Human Services (DCHS), Adult Services Division (ASD), met with several coalition partners to gather feedback on this strategy, and best use, to support their continued work with the region’s human service partners. This engagement was instrumental the development of the program, and a plan to release funding in 2025.

Currently, ASD is expecting to release a competitive procurement for these funds in summer, 2025.
