Commute options

King County offers a variety of employee transportation options. If you’re a King County employee eligible for commute benefits, your employee ID/ORCA card covers your King County Metro Vanpool or Vanshare 100%, and pays your fare on the following regular services: Water taxi, Metro Transit, Sound Transit Express, Community Transit, Pierce Transit, Kitsap Transit, Everett Transit, link light rail, Sounder Train, and Seattle Streetcar.

The Employee Assistance and Making Life Easier programs help employees and their families to be healthy and safe.


Employee experience

Guided by our True North, the Employee Experience team works to understand the Voice of the Employee in order to create innovative and sustainable practices to increase employee engagement for all King County Employees. We implement Employee Engagement surveys and an action planning process, as well as consult with departments and agencies to support their unique employee experience needs to move forward as one King County.


Employee Giving Program

King County’s Employee Giving Program makes it easy for employees to do the good they already want to do! From volunteering, donating after a natural disaster, or sharing about a cause that’s important to them, King County employees can help make a different in the world. Learn more here.


Exercise and activities from Balanced You

Balanced You offers resources and information to help employees to stay active and healthy. This includes information about King County Activity Centers, easy desk exercises and free yoga and exercise classes (live and virtual).
